I really love Jakob's brand of post-rock here with heavily echoey delayed, subtle low ended guitars atop a foundation of drumming that ranges from discrete on meditative tracks e.g. 5, 8 or 12, to fast paced and dynamic on punchier tracks e.g. 1,4 or 11, to punchy and dynamic even on meditative tracks making for a delightful contrast, for instance on 7. There aren't really long epics here. The longest track is just under 7.5 minutes. The tracks have good ideas, do them, and once they've set it stops nicely (although the album does end a bit on nothing). Now, at times this feels a touch undercooked. You wish for vocals, or explosions that have a bit more flavour to them, or something as a continuation of those ideas. But I find the sound here very inspiring. 3.75

Just come across these guys and they are amazing and provide everything I need in Post Rock. In fact, I much
prefer this to the So called giants of the genre, the forefathers that set the foundations for the genre such as God
Speed, Explosions, Mogwai etc. I much prefer the offspring such as these and Caspian and If These Trees Could
Talk. I find them far more engaging and powerful.
