Ive never told this to anyone: Im just trying to move past. But lately it seems that my insecurities have got the best of me, and Im no longer in control. No one should ever have to feel like this, to feel like me! And even though the good I have outweighs the bad, the bads whats leaving me with sleepless nights. I spend most of my time arguing with my own reflection, for no apparent reason. And it may seem as if I have all the answers, but Im just as lost as you. Ive spent the past few years trying to overcome my own misery, but these sort of things take time, and Im running out of mine. So I will pray to a God that isnt there; to a world that doesnt hear; to anyone who will listen -- to keep me from becoming everything I promised myself that I would never be: I do not deserve this!r

A tired sound in a tired genre. How many bands now sound exactly like this? 239? They all sound the same, especially the vocals. It's almost as cliche as the cookie monster vocals in death metal.

It's about as good as everyone's been saying. The band writes and performs their fucking heart out on this record. Easily some of the most dynamic, and harmonious songs they have ever put to tape are present on this album. There are brief periods of monotony that unfortunately bring it down, even after repeated listening. It sucks too because that monotony creeping around the corner every once in while contrasts heavily with the really great things about this project. Still, most of this metalcore album hits hard and hits home.

Perhaps my ear for metalcore is not what it used to be but this can't be more than a plain 'ol everyday metalcore record. It's fine, but nowhere close to notable.

As solid as anyone would expect. Tracks 2-9 are all excellent and live up to the level of quality that Counterparts has set for themselves. Sadly the opener does basically nothing for me because I don't really come to Counterparts for tracks that are literally just 00--0000--0-0-00 chugs. It seriously sounds like the opening to every metalcore album ever made. The closer is certainly a decent song but it leaves something to be desired, especially since their previous three records have had such colossal, satisfying finales. It's still a thoroughly listenable record, though, and it maintains Counterparts' high caliber song writing.

Couterparts as a whole project have set out to deliver devastating metalcore by the numbers on every album. They do deliver some of the most high-quality, albeit not particularly original music in the project. On the other hand, it is easy to tire of this unending sameness. I was fortunate to have heard this as one of my first exposures to the band, but I very well may have hated it had I heard it as their last album.

Raw, emotional, and beautiful. I don't really get any complaints from other people about this album. Is it original? No. That doesn't mean it isn't executed almost to perfection. If you are a fan of the genre these guys are head and shoulders above a plethora of similar artists. Fantastic album.

This is pretty muuch the culmination of everything that makes counterparts amazing. The record feels compact, the lyrics are beautiful and the melodies and breakdowns are well placed. The record beginning and ending on the same lyrics even gives it a sense of concept. Pretty muuch everything about this is perfect

I'm a bit surprised by the 4.0 rating. This album didn't do much to distance itself from the genre. It sounds like many other bands. Bullet For My Valentine came to mind, and that was more than a decade ago. Some songs were solid, but overall it was just okay.

Nothing left To love does not invent anything musically, but it gives energy and also communicates through the multitude of details. For my part, I don't find this band so extraordinary, but it must be said that on this record, writing is the main point that adds an indescribable added value. The album follows a common thread and starts with a epic question and ends with the inevitable ending, and that's remarkable

Ok let's talk about how the message a piece of art conducts can outweigh the intrinsic qualities of said piece of art. Like it or not, even if it's the best generic melodic metalcore you could find now, this remains generic melodic metalcore, with chuggy breakdowns, shouting vocals, some almost clean vocals from time to time, and those melodic riffs on top of everything. Even though I like listening to that kind of music from time to time, I've grown tired of it. I do like the record however, and the lyrics truly are gut-wrenching, but it would have had so much more impact on me a decade ago. In the end, I'm just glad you guys seem to get that much from this album. Love y'all.

It's amazing to see how this band manages to release quality album after quality album. Compared to its predecessor, NLTL is even more streamlined and tighter in songwriting, incorporating more metal and technical elements while also inlcuding more clean vocals an anthemic hooks than ever before. The closer will definitely surprise a lot of people with its calm and emotional approach.
