I don't understand why a band taking a new direction is considered pretentious. A lot of you take music way too seriously. This is a great album. The songs are moody and dark and full of emotion. Please Say No is a jam and the opening track is FANTASTIC. The mix on the album is raw and gritty and I appreciate the direct TDWP are taking with their sound.

I love there new direction it suits them. Different might not be the same as there older albums. But I think it?s
gonna surprisingly be good to the fans. Mike’s said “he wants his new album to be more moodier, less riffs” so
don’t spect it to be Heavy as much. There will be still heavy tracks and some like Lines Of Your Hands and some
like Please Say No and some like Switchblade as well.

The album is all over the place, TDWP dont seem to know what kind of band they want to be anymore, and yet I'm captivated. There's a couple songs I'm not fond of, but everything else just clicks. I'm a fan of this direction and the evolution of the band.

Instant classic. I understand this isn?t an album that most people expected, but it?s an incredibly mature, dark, and deep album. It really shows just how much TDWP had grown since it?s inception, and I?m all for it. Mike has found his voice again, Jeremy?s cleans have never sounded better, Andy?s bass still SLAPS hard as ever, Kyle?s guitar work is incredible, Giuseppe?s drumming hits hard, and Jon?s keyboard work is fantastic. This will go down as a classic album in the rock/metal world.

I don't understand why people seem to hate change, in my opinion, this album holistically is very creative and different from anything they have ever written in the past. I would place this album on par with Dead Throne or even WRAABB. I like the indie direction they took with this and even what Mike has sort of done in order to cope with the continual loss of his voice/screams. I also enjoy Jeremy's singing on this album. I think the lyrics are solid and thought-provoking in some aspects and musically this album doesn't lack or do anything revolutionary but allows TDWP to open a door to another form of writing and thinking when it comes to creating music as art. I wouldn't be surprised if this album grows on me and I rate it higher in the future.

This is so bad compared to the quality of some
of their previous albums. Some of the lyrics
here are laughable and it hurts my heart.
Diamond Lost cleans "there's a diamond lost
inside the earth, deep underground inside the
dirt." Yuck.

with some of the mature (and bleak) songwriting on this album, it is easy to forget they are a christian band. TDWP do quite a bit of experimenting on this album, and it all pays of very well. This is A genre defining release in Metalcore.

Pretentious album that sounds nothing like TDWP with some atmosphere and heart as a redeeming factor. Not sure what they were going for on this but it doesn?t fit them well especially the vocal/instrumental structures. Transit blues experimented heavily but at least had traces of their signature sound.

I want to like this more, but right now I can?t justify anything above a 3. I like the singing, I like the heavy parts, I like the atmospheric parts, but I don?t like them when they intersect. I think they could lean into one of the three sounds or even just two of them and make something really special.

Most disheartening fact about this album is how the screaming dude has to over enunciate EVERY SINGLE WORD. The Act is DWP's most "out there" record yet. It's heavy and also accessible and catchy. At times it's even brilliant but at times it's cringe and skippable. Granted that it took me two years to appreciate it fully this is a great record, sonically adventurous and very curated. Ruined by sub-par vocal performances throughout the record.
