2.5 average | Linx | October 31st 19 | There are some pretty good moments here, though it's a bit of a slog to find them. I loved their first 2 albums but I'm not really feeling this one. It doesn't sound as clean or interesting as it's older brothers. Still don't hate it, nor would I call it bad.

2.5 average | c0nf1n3d | November 20th 19 | For the first time, Shayley 'Dayshell' Bourget wrote/recorded/produced this record by himself (I believe it was partially crowdfunded as well). On a first listen, "Mr. Pain" (whacky album title aside) sounds like another groove-induced alternative record that 'Dayshell' is known for. However, I give an album 5 listens before giving a review. It was around listen four when I realized that while it all sounds good as a whole, there's nothing really special here that stands out. In fact, the album peaks on its first track "Superhuman". Songs like "Nostalgia" and "Skyline" are unique in their own sense but lack...something. Perhaps it's the lack of layering in the mix. The drums sound HEAVILY programmed, and I'm almost confident they actually are. "Mr. Pain" comes across as a VERY good sounding demo record that could've probably used a few more cooks in the kitchen. Shayley is a gifted musician and songwriter, but succumbs to the Beartooth problem when it comes to writing cohesive records individually.

2.0 poor | tommyhoover64 | June 15th 22 | Not very good A completely forgettable effort.. For this to be almost an hour long is reprehensible. Shayley is way better than this.. What is going on..?

2.0 poor | mthilliard | November 29th 19 | Just an album filled with nothing that is at forgettable at its best and cringe at its worst. Boring pop-influenced garbage.
Horrible: Kombat
Okay: Runaway

3.0 good | Krpa | October 30th 19 | I've been waiting for this for a long time, but it proves to be a disappointment compared to Nexus. Props to Shayley for keeping the band afloat, even if his latest album lacks a lot of flair that made Nexus stand out. This has worse production and lyrics, and it contains several unmemorable filler songs. It's more in line with all the other standard post-hardcore/alt-rock albums that are a dime a dozen these days. Standout tracks are Spellbound, Pressure, Runaway and the biggest surprise of the album, closing track Tender Love. It's a detour into synthpop territory which I would have loved to hear more of.
