Wages of Sin was the first Arch Enemy album which I've listened.. the main reason, why I downloaded it was that I've been shocked by Revolution Begins video (That's a GIRL?xD) and also in love with In Flames that time. After first listen I did know that I've found an excellent album - I was never too interested in Angela's growls, but fell in love with their drummer and guitarists ^^ However, it's also very energic album - when I'm walking somewhere and listening this, I always start to run :D Their second best after orgasmic Doomsday Machine.

Wages of Sin might be more rooted in Arch Enemy's melodic death metal roots than its successors, helping it serve up a few solid and darker slices of tracks, but what most of the album lacks is a way to distinguish itself from a crowded field. Too many points tackle lower, highly distorted moments (and even slow down as if to break the monotony). However, this only builds dullness for the listener and, before long, they'll realize just how limited the album's staying power is.
