Fantastic stuff. I?d tell you whether it?s musically better than Reek of Putrefaction, but I can?t sonce the production on that album is so bad I can?t even make anything properly out. Regardless, this one apparently is more death metal than that one, and it?s wonderful. Although miles better than on Reek, the production is still less than optimal bringing it down by 0.5.

The production on here is significantly worse than on Carcass' future albums and that really hinders it in my opinion. Despite the poor production, Symphonies of Sickness still manages to be a fairly entertaining death grind album.

This is not the greatest deathgrind but what matters is the massive influence on the genre that this album had. That is what Carcass did on this album.

Great album and almost what I'd consider a classic. The album as a whole is only marred by some poor production quality. Then again though, this genre of music at this time period really wasn't even a blip on the radar so to speak...so the low production values come with quite a few albums of this era.
