Considering they're an all-time favorite, I want to love this. But between the unbelievably done-in lyrics, boring pacing, and total lack of standouts, it's kinda hard.

The immediate follow-up to an obviously career-defining album like 'After the Party' is a general return to plainly competent solidity with a mixed bag of ultra catchy ragers and a few meandering duds.

No connection whatsoever. No furious drunken anthem, no heart-crushing lyrics about self-realization, no sweet guitar tones. Maybe post-2012 Menzingers isn't for me.

It really takes some adjusting on first listen, especially with the mind-boggling production choice, but even just the second time around it started clicking. Its basically ATP but a little less punky, a little more twangy.I just wish i could actually tell what the fuck Greg or Tom are saying half the time you know.
