4.0 excellent | jrowa001 | November 30th 08 | who the **** are Iron Thrones? oh i know! theyre an up and coming progressive metal band that absolutely blew me away upon first listen. this is a band that takes a lot of their influences and uses them to make their own sound. theres not one moment on this where it sounds like theyre just ripping bands off. for example, you can hear some Opeth-esque riffing throughout the album, but you can tell its their own sound. the vocals are mostly screamed/growled. sounds somewhat like a more controlled and smoother Tommy Rogers (from BTBAM). the drums are technical and very good. excellent fills and the album isnt swamped with blast beats. like i said the riffing is similar to Opeths but with a few more solos thrown in. the solos are SICK! theyre not fast for the sake of being fast. you can tell they took time to write them and they were placed perfectly. the bass playing is good and is audible. what else can i say about this band.....well i can say that they are here to make music and they know what they are doing. theyre young (i believe) but sound very mature in their songwriting. i highly recommend this album, its one of my favs of this year and very close to being a 4.5/5. i think many of you guys that were into In Mourning or a fan of prog metal that takes another step outside of the box should give this a shot. check out their last.fm page, theyre a bunch of really nice guys

0.0 | bloc | February 9th 10 | Take the hit or miss vocals of Tommy Rogers from BTBAM and add the simple yet effective music of solo Devin Townsend and you get Iron Thrones. Very epic yet brutal at the same time. While there might not be much singing, there are numerous guitar solos that provide more than enough melody.

5.0 classic | StareAndWonder | January 22nd 10 | This band was known as "Everest" before Iron Thrones, and even before that they were known as "Nehemiah". Of course there was subtle lineup changes, but they still ket their amazing sound and kept impressing me with every release. "Visions of Light" is such an amazing and enjoyable record and is in my top favs, but I do reccomend everyone to check out the albums they released under the band names "Nehemiah" and "Everest".

3.0 good | ninjuice | June 5th 09 | Opeth minus the acoustics fronted by Tommy Rogers minus the suck make a progressive (melodic) death metal album minus replay value and truly impressive qualities. There's not much else to say about this, other than it's free, generic and too repetitive for its own good - you more or less get what you pay for here.
