With Choke, Poppy has finally created a record that transports the atmosphere of her videos in musical form - a dark, schizophrenic, mesmerizing EP that defies genre categorization and sounds like the soundtrack to a descent into madness. Without a doubt the most fascinating EP of the year and a glorious foretaste of what to expect from this artist in the future.

Billie Eilish who? Gets nasty and dirty. 'Meat' is a bit much, but honestly Voicemail and Scary Mask go hard and Holy Mountain is a nice way to usher us into the next era of Poppy.

Good surprise this one. Choke is basically a short collection of poppy songs that have various degrees of industrial and electronic touches, from the mega-frantic to the "lighters on" lullaby.
