| 4.0 excellent | YouAreMySilence | January 3rd 09 | "And I made a truce its thicker than stone. in a desperate wife your desperate husband, you wouldnt stray but how far did you go? A curse on your home and the mighty atoned."
The Eventually Home is the second installment from the front man of Manchester Orchestra's main man Andy Hull in a three-album concept about a 17th century sailor. The first section, The Bitter End, follows the man's adventures at sea and is a above average but unoriginal low fi acoustic record, while The Eventually Home is a much darker release about his return to his unfaithful wife and devastated life.
While Any Hull doesn't completly break into originality, he proves himself to be one of the best lyrisists of our generation. The album's concept shines through brilliantly in every song but he also makes everything song personal and raw, just listen to the incredibly moving Father Brian Finn, the epic and powerful I Was A Vampire and the heartbreaking closer I Was A Cage.
Overall what drives this from an above average record to one of the best records of 08 is Andy Hull's brilliantly dark and emotional songwriting, a trait that is honed with such imagery and grace that he creates an atmosphere that will leave you feeling just as the character in his stories feels; lonely.
