As much as I dig the riffs on this there's still not much I can enjoy. I liked it more on a first listen when I was just working with this as background but as soon as I pay attention to the whole picture it still has some cool moments but is overall ok.

Torche's layering of dreamy, almost shoegazey textures over crunchy riffs is so satisfying. Admission strikes an excellent balance between the two and serves perfectly when I want to listen to some heavy stoner/sludge that isn't completely wretched and depressing.

Although each track have fairly one riff, the vibe and atmo are awesome and somewhat original (?). For sure they teach Baroness a lesson how to produce a sludge album.rAdmission is one of the best ones here...certainly different from the rest of the album...almost tunes from bands like Interpol etc (post The Cure etc). Also dig the slight change on What Was to make almost a single chorus...its a pity they don't gamble more on these slight changes X

Urgent and catchy, simple but efficient. There was something in the hooks/riffs that made me think of 'pop sludge' or 'pop stoner' (especially the t/t, which IS BANGING). Interesting release, but I found it less interesting after subsequent listens.
