Upd: Nope, not even close to a 5. Scared to think what will happen to this band in the
future

3.0 good | c0nf1n3d | September 5th 19 | Crown the Empire were releasing singles only for just about a year, and I guess they decided to put most of them together and sell it as an EP. They're branding it as an 'LP', but the first track is just a narration, and "March of the Ignorant" carries a tune but feels phoned in (the voice FX on the song as well emulate someone on the other end of the phone). I'd say the first half of this EP is worth the listen. "20/20", "what i am", and "Red Pills" are excellent songs, and "BLURRY (out of place) fits in well too. After "Red Pills", the album takes a nosedive to below ground and barely gets saved by the title track which ends the album. Personally, the good songs are so good they make this overall positive, but compared to 'Retrograde', this is a step down no doubt.

3.5 great | Maximo | July 23rd 19 | I actually really enjoy this, it?s far too short (especially considering how long the lead up to this release has been), but I think this is miles better than Retrograde. A few tracks fail to entice me (particularly the title track), but this thing is full of so many great, infectious choruses that I absolutely adore.

3.5 great | LoLifant | July 20th 19 | I hate that I like the band since not writing your own music usually triggers an instant „nope, next please“ from
me but since Barone is basically an inofficial member of the band and I really like the hooks I can kinda deal with
it, even though their statement about Escamilla made them absolutely dislikable as people.
The album isn’t as good as Retrograde, which had a more cohesive style and theme to it that gave the sounds
and production a reason. Cover and lyrics, more often than not, tend to be cringy and you can’t ignore how
overproduced everything sounds. But overall most of the hooks and riffs are great and fun to listen to. I like it,
even if I don’t like liking it.
