this record may not top MTD for me, but you can't deny those bass drops and sludgy slam riffs. the slams feel more fleshed out, with even more groove injected into their breakdowns. but the songwriting takes a hit, with a lot of it being lost in the filthy production. sure, MTD was the same, but not as much as this. a must for early Devourment fans.

HEAVY lies the crown. I think what devournment does really, really well is transitioning
in a song. The riffs can be cheesy and sometimes predictable, but you never know what the
next part is gonna be, keeping it enticing and fun. Keeping the "oh shit" factor high
will always make their albums stand out in the field.Pro tip: pump the 1KHz on the
equalizer to let the guitars stand out a little.

This might be one of the best brutal death metal production jobs I've ever heard. Nothing
revolutionary songwriting-wise but hot damn does it sound vitriolic and disgusting. Word.
