5.0 classic | cman23kid | October 17th 19 | Some singles were almost a bit too misleading as being some of the weaker tracks on the album,
but the whole thing is an hour of a banger. When you listen to it all, it sounds like Alter Bridge and
how you would imagine they sound. If you took The Last Hero out of their discography and this
came after fortress, they would have 5 seamlessly transitioned albums (TLH is still good just
saying). The album definitely feels like how they described it. Its very reminiscent of Both
Blackbird and AB 3. If you're wondering what i'm talking about: It sounds like the musicianship and
style of AB 3, but with the brighter or happier tone felt on some of the songs in Blackbird. Best
Songs: Wouldn't You Rather, Godspeed, Native Son, Forever Falling, Walking on the Sky, Dying
Light

3.5 great | Toondude | October 17th 19 | it's just more Alter Bridge, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they really need to start tweaking their sound a bit more and get a different producer if they want to stay relevant.

3.0 good | tiesthatbind | October 31st 19 | It's solid, but one of their worst albums. The electronic influence is a welcome addition to their
sound, and there are still a lot of great hooks, but the songwriting is too safe to reach the
heights of their other work.
I thought The Last Hero succeeded despite its faults because it still had some killer fretwork and
epic songs like This Side of Fate and the title track. Walk the Sky scales back that ambition, and
is a bit more consistent but it never hits those highs.
It's fun for the most part, but they can do better. The solos are the most predictable and
formulaic of any Alter Bridge album, which is disappointing. The most interesting ideas musically
are generally on the fringes of the songs (the melodic outro to Take the Crown, for instance).
As a fan, I like it, and I'm pretty forgiving of their well-established faults at this point, like
the cliche lyricism and the often suffocating wall of sound production. I just hope the
musicianship evolves from this in the future. For me, this is their most disappointing album.

4.0 excellent | CriticalMyth | October 23rd 19 | Solid musicianship and a lot of surprising variety, all built on an energetic foundation that remains potent throughout the entire effort. I'll need to listen to it a few more times to pick out any specific highlight tracks, but that speaks to the high quality.

2.5 average | gordodustin | October 19th 19 | Where's the review on this?? The album has some great instrumental moments but it's lacking in memorable melody that the first 4 albums nailed so well. There were a lot of great areas where Myles vocal paths just felt off. Would put it slightly ahead of The Last Hero, but not by much. Their first 4 records are better.

3.0 good | Antonius | November 17th 19 | Sixth album, fifteen years of sheer hard rock quality. Not many bands out there can match the status of Alter Bridge. Walk The Sky is an album on its own and contains all the characteristics that make this band great: massive riffs, spirit-lifting vocals, passionate bass lines, energized drumming. The sooner you realize that there will not be another Blackbird, the more you will appreciate how exceptional this band is. Recommendations: "Native Son", "Wouldn't You Rather", "Pay No Mind", "Take The Crown"

3.0 good | Gfunk839 | October 19th 19 | After the hugely underwhelming "The Last Hero" this is exactly what I needed from AB. Still not as essential as Blackbird or AB III, but iterates successfully on the heavier, more commercial style pioneered on "Fortress". I love it, but I don't think this is representative of their true potential. I think they should slow down on the side-projects and come together for longer periods of time to write and record.

4.0 excellent | iamSeraph | April 5th 20 | A definite return to form after Fortress and The Last Hero felt a bit lackluster to me. Some Blackbird and ABIII vibes over here too. Imho it's a great listen. Give it a spin bois.

2.5 average | kheman1317 | November 23rd 19 | When you try to play it safe, you don't get a single bad song in the entire album but neither will you get a oustanding one. Such is the case of Alter Bridge's newest album.

3.5 great | JakeStallion | October 23rd 19 | Pretty safe album for the most part aside from some really neat moments. The instrumentals are all good, and Myles sounds as good as ever, though some of the hooks here are pretty underwhelming/generic.

2.5 average | Gmork89 | October 21st 19 | Very very average, nothing really stands out unfortunately aside from a couple of moments. They really need to evolve. Pretty much any chorus on these tracks could be pasted into any other song and it would be unnoticeable. Way too formulaic.

3.5 great | Asura14 | October 21st 19 | Definitely Alter Bridge playing safe once again, the musicianship is still great and overall it is a strong album, much like Show Me A Leader but with the addition of synths.

3.5 great | ctellee | October 20th 19 | Not an entirely memorable album however there were a handful of singles as well as the song that
Mark does vocals for the verses that keep me holding on. Will probably take a few more listens to
be fully appreciated, though I can say Alter Bridge has produced another great album with fun
riffs, wonderful instrumental moments, and gorgeous vocals throughout.

3.0 good | LotionLord | October 20th 19 | I never really liked this band as much as I think I should. This album is pretty much what I expected; a couple of great songs but a lot of filler. I'm putting it at a 3 for now, but I'm sure some tracks will grow on me and I'll put it higher.
