4.5 superb | Dimorphic | July 16th 19 | Sent the IP addresses of all those who have rated this early to the FBI for illegally downloading and not supporting the artist. They've already responded to let me know they're on their way to your houses with kill-squads. Srynotsry.

1.0 awful | ManiacBlasphemer | September 23rd 19 | Awful stuff. Just noise with random screams/humming on stolen samples.rSeen some people saying something about RYM going crazy over this. Well that is partly because of my review there. Which even the artist got news of and got pissed.rThis is nothing more than hipster fodder. We all know that hipsters care nothing about music in general and are more interested in non-musical aspects.rLingua Ignota is like the perfect shit that attracts flies. Here you have a woman with a past full of domestic abuse, playing her role as a victim thus attracting many people who sympathize with her, disregarding the fact that there is no music.rWhen your story sells more and is the focus of attention rather than your music, then there is no music, or at least no good music to back up your notoriety.rAs I said on RYM, had it been a healthy young man making this shit, The Guardian or Pitchfork wouldn't have noticed this. But since it is a woman with a sad story to tell, this noise became the epitome of musical expression.

4.0 excellent | tectactoe | July 19th 19 | This album ground the remnants of my soul into a fine powder then blew them back into my face
and I kind of enjoyed it, is that weird?

2.0 poor | noahconstrictor | May 14th 20 | I get the idea of the album telling a long form story, but it felt like at times it was just long and moody for the sake of being long and moody. Not a great album, and while I can see why it gets the love it gets, it's just really not my thing.

4.5 superb | cjbizzlebizzle | December 30th 19 | For some reason the Chelsea Wolfe album title 'Pain is Beauty' comes to mind when thinking of a summary of thoughts on 'Caligula'. The actual pain in the lyrics and sounds expressed by Lingua Ignota themselves are not beautiful but, in the end, the album as a whole is a truly beautiful experience that feels akin to seeing the first film that left you speechless once the screen went dark. This record has personality. Kristen simply cannot be ignored with her violent screams, wonderful singing, angered lyrics and passion that bleeds into the music. The atmosphere is unreal. It feels like you are experiencing someone else's worst pain, depression and mental state in a dark, funereal ritual. All of this combined with songwriting/structures that almost have a cinematic feel to them make for an album that must be experienced as a whole and one that transports you out of your chair/headphones and into something truly scary. Less of a music album and more of a unique experience and one that is painful and beautiful.

4.0 excellent | Sputnikmusic excommunicado | September 13th 22 | "Geez, this woman is like Nico 2.0. Mighty, soul-crashing voice dragging you with chains to the depths of Tartarus! Intellectually stimulating lyrics full of symbolism, pathos, mythology and religious themes. The artistic expression is so powerful it can saw the planet in half! Feels like she is burning alive at times - it that's desperate! But, raw impressions aside, it's a highly experimental dark folk coupled with opera. There's some crashing beauty to be found in this". - "stolen" from my bandcamp.

3.6 great | Erwann S. STAFF | September 22nd 21 | ALL BITCHES DIE, partie deux. It's still very much a work of neoclassical darkwave being torn apart by post-industrial screeches, as well as a way for Hayter to exorcise her demons, whether through lamented chants or demonic screams. Yes, it's ALL BITCHES DIE partie deux, but longer and dragging a tad longer.

3.0 good | BeeRyan | September 8th 20 | Heavy parts rule other parts drool. Not a fan of the opera sections.

5.0 classic | davezillaMP3 | May 25th 20 | An album so unsettling and tragic, most will only be able to stomach one listen. However it is an album that is so impotent because of the themes it carry's and it is translated masterfully in the drone-like classical-eque sound of the album
