While it doesn?t live up to their magnum opus ?Children Of Fire?, this was still a lot better than I anticipated. Glad to see their back in full swing.

this album feels like it's trying to be "holy hell" but falls short of the emotional merit of that album and despite that and inconsistent vocal performance. this is a pretty okay album

After hearing the single "Fissure," my expectations for this album dropped significantly. This album met, but in no way exceeded, my expectations. Each song is chock full of passion and energy, but something special that was present in the past two albums is sorely lacking. Musically, it is a bit more generic, yet is still unique enough to distinguish it from other metalcore albums. The biggest disappointment comes from the lyrical content; the brilliant and intelligent storytelling is replaced with lyrical cliches and rather simplistic and underdeveloped narratives. However, both Micah's and Shane's impassioned vocals are able to make the lyrics palatable. Overall, it is still a recommended listen; just do not expect anything overtly original or remarkable.

Super average album without a lot of soul. First track sounds so empty and disconnected (Especially that initial rift, yikes) that I had to force my way through it. There are some OK tracks later on, Decimation and Burial has its moments, and Oxygen seems to bottle some of the passion that Oh, Sleeper exhibited on their older albums, but these moments are few and far between. I actually ended up really liking The Summit as a change of pace for the band, but it wasn't enough to push this album past decidedly average for me.

It?s fun I guess. I like the production, especially on the guitars. Very punchy. Also, bands like these guys and Slant Plant would be so so so so much fucking better if they laid off, if not ditched entirely, the poppy clean choruses.

I'm really digging it. Been a fan since the
debut. The riffs are good as ever. Vocals and
lyrics too, really loving what I'm hearing. If
anything the drumming sounds a bit tame at
times but I think it's more the mix. Good
record.

Shane has a great voice, fight me. This is good, but that's all. Nothing here is gonna knock you
on your ass. Children Of Fire is still leagues beyond this. It's clear they don't have anyone that
can fill their old guitarist's shoes. There is almost no melodic lead work here. Solid riffing?
Sure, but the fantastic melodies that made songs like Endseekers so damn good are completely
absent here. This has a very different style and frankly it's much less interesting.

The long-awaited Bloodied//Unbowed is finally upon us. Does it live up to expectations? Kinda, sorta? It's a solid return with nothing drawdropping, but then, that shouldn't have been expected. As far as reunion records go it's great.
