The whole point of the band was to combine orthodox singing and black metal in a way that was neither an endorsement nor criticism of Christian ideologies. But, by stealing the band name and thereby overtly committing sin, this project has swayed from ambiguity and toward darkness, utterly tarnishing the principals under which it was fundamentally based.

It's definitely not the trainwreck people were expecting, but it's not too special, either. Good, but that's about it.
Panihida brought the Batushka sound and pushed it ever so slightly towards new moods and territories. Hospodi, on the other hand, is way more interested in letting you know that it sounds like Batushka. It tries REALLY hard to sound like Batushka, and it...kind of succeeds. It sounds a bit like them but with a lot more bog-standard black metal thrown in the mix. Like if you made someone listen to Litourgiya once and then told them to write a whole album immediately afterwards.
So yeah. It's aight. Not much more than that, though. And it's very clear who the brain behind Batushka is at this point.

Well, this is very different from the original Batushka, and I have to say: I enjoyed this one probably lot more than the others. I don't care about the story behind the split-up because I rcan't be 100% objective in this case. But again, this is a very-very good album. Hospodi is more on the post-metal side, very heavy, the mix is spot on, and I really enjoyed the the overall ratmosphere of this album.

Afraid to admit that this version of the band slaps too. Not as good as the OG debut definitely, and not as experimental or really attempting to be more than it is. Bart tries to diversify here and there but nothing really is all too unique about thos record.

2 singles until now, 1 video showcasting the first Batushka live show since the separation and...my god, if that's not the most generic, bland and ripped off tunes i don't know what it is. Sounds like a blackened version of Ghost, PLUS, it does not follow any steps from the previous record. I mean, what's the point of this Batushka? What goes on on Bart's mind?
