I never thought I'd be able to describe anything ScHoolboy Q was involved with "boring," yet he released this. Considering the best things about him are his wild voice and catchy flows, why he thought an album full of generic trap beats with his most nondescript vocal performances yet was a good idea is beyond me. It's a BAD sign when Lil Baby of all people is more interesting than you on your own project.rIf there's at least one positive to this album, it's that it can't get much worse than this, right?

Here we go again... no matter how sparkly a production job you can't disguise drab songwriting like this. I dare the guy to spend more than 5 minutes to write a hook too

Honestly, its so great, he does so much, but its all still so Q. Even all the features just are perfect extensions of
what feels like a piece thats still all Q. He is honest, and cutting, and talks a lot of shit, and addresses a lot of his
demons with a smirk you can feel penetrating through, cover to cover.

Still go back to songs on here. It?s got some generics like CHopstix but still some solid tracks like Attention 5200 and Tales. People compare it to Blank Face and find it underwhelming but obviously it wasn?t meant to be as conceptual

Crash talk is a huge disappointment. How can a guy as strong as Schoolboy Q (probably one of the best Californian rappers of the decade) deliver us such a weak album ? First of all, he experienced a major depression and drug addiction. We also learned that hed his album after the death of his friend Mac Miller, si being given a big fan of Q I may not be forgiving enough. But that doesn?t explain everything : from the first listening we notice that some things are not right. I ve Nevers seen Q sod on an entire album and even let the guests take the lead. I should have known when I listened to Chopstixx, but I didn?t believe it. Tell me it?s an nightmare

Q should just let somebody else write his songs at this point. His rapping is still top tier, but his songwriting on this is so boring.

While it certainly isn't bad, it definitely isn't in line with Ox or Blank Face. The hooks on songs like
Water, Drunk, Floating, and Chopstix are inexcusably lazy, especially when you have a guy like Q
who made an album of great hooks on Oxy. However, the beats on this thing, while not redefining
anything in the genre, are pretty great. Die Wit Em, Numb Numb Juice, Attention and Gang Gang
are all stand out tracks. Overall though, this album is a disappointment.
