4.5 superb | HarrySmalldini97 | May 23rd 19 | Another great album - feel like its gonna get some negativity for being bloated, but honestly, the guy does so much more with sound and arrangement than anyone else in the scene. I have waited so long for another Flylo album, so getting something this dense is a treat (and finding all the tracks featured in Kuso is cool too)

3.0 good | Rev | May 24th 19 | it takes roughly twelve tracks for flylo to shake off the dried poop and cum left over from kuso but then it really starts cookin~!

3.0 good | Tb1114 | May 28th 19 | IMO: This has the most filler out of any FlyLo albums. This album has lots of bangers (Black Balloon, Heroes, The Climb) but like others have said it's just bloated. Lots of tracks could have been left out. But the sound on this album, when it hits, it hits. I think this is his most bass-heavy record yet.

4.5 superb | Boivin | May 24th 19 | Once again Flying Lotus is proving to be one of the top-most producer right now. That man can do no wrong. Instant classic.

3.5 great | Doublez38 | December 11th 19 | It's not his best album because it's far from being as "brilliant" and innovative as the previous ones, but Flamagra is so endearing and well tied up that it takes you to the end without you noticing. Moreover, Flying's sound and technique is so identifiable, surprising, pleasant and talented that it makes the task easier. I understand his approach and I don't blame the fact that there may be too many titles because they are often short and form the backbone of the project, it's especially that for me there are no songs as exceptional as he was able to release before.

4.0 excellent | Jake | July 29th 19 | LA beat scene legend Steven Ellison, otherwise known as Flying Lotus, is back at again with his sixth studio album. This is somewhat of a departure from the his past works, mainly in that it lacks a certain conciseness and directness that most of his previous projects have seemed to nail. Clocking in at 75 minutes, it?s somewhat easy to see why. This thing goes in many different directions, and can seem a bit cluttered at first glance. It is an album centered around the sporadic concept of fire after all. With that being said, the sound design and arrangement on most individual tracks on here is nothing short of masterful - ultimately offering a track listing fused with what could best be described as funk fueled electronic jazz-hop. This is perhaps the warmest and most human project that Ellison has released, while still maintaining the otherworldly sound he is most known for. Considering the lengthy feature list sprawled across the 27 tracks, this comes as no surprise (David Lynch even makes a genuinely haunting appearance). This is not the best Flying Lotus album, but it still has some damn good moments.79/100

2.0 poor | I Am Saruman, The Multicoloured | June 28th 19 | Disappointing, to say the least. The mixing on that album is sub par and the composition aspect really took a huge nosedive if you compare it to Los Angeles or even Cosmogramma. The sound of the album is drown in reverb and the instrumentation is a lot less inspired than on the previous albums. You can save a few tracks here and there but Flamagra is really below FlyLo's potential.

2.8 good | Erwann S. STAFF | June 11th 19 | The most filler-fueled FlyLo album ): He should've stick to his regular 40-minutes mark. When it bangs, boy does it bang (especially in the second half), but when it drags boy does it drag (especially in the first half). He tried to do an hour-long You're Dead, but an album flowing like this one should be tight and concise not to lose the listener.

2.5 average | Chicasal86 | May 30th 19 | If we look at the album without taking into account FlyLo's normal pedigree its a decent album. However, for FlyLo its fairly poor. The whole thing could be boiled down to a handful of decent tracks. Closer to motifs then actual songs. If someone had shown me some of these tracks and not told me if was flying lotus i'd think it was some random no name EDM guy. I'm a big fan of his but this album is off the mark. Maybe needs to put the pipe down. Like someone else had mentioned it takes about 12 tracks before this thing really gets going.

4.0 excellent | TheFantasticDangler | May 28th 19 | Went into this fully expecting to be bored by about 1/3 of the tracks and never actually listen to it in one listen but this is a damn easy 1h+, 27 track listen. For me at least.

3.8 excellent | Benjamin Kuettel EMERITUS | May 25th 19 | A densely packed collection of ideas that hearkens to each album from Flying Lotus's career. You'll find some of his best material here on Flamagra, even though the first half of the album has some hit-and-miss guest-centered tracks, but suddenly becomes a sequel to Cosmogramma and Until the Quiet Comes, his two best records, starting with track 14. The album is a blissed-out cosmic journey starting there, but there are certainly many good moments in the first half too.
