Aside from the god-awful artwork, this might be the most consistent MIW album yet. Though there
are a few skippable numbers ("Headache" is annoyingly repetitive, "Legacy" goes nowhere) and the
experimentation + heaviness is toned down considerably here, but the melodies and vocal
performances may be the best in the discography (which to some, ain't saying much). Lead single
"Brand New Numb" brings a dance-able energy, "Code" is a genuinely solid radio song with a massive
hook, and "Thoughts & Prayers" and "Undead Ahead 2" will find themselves in the conversation of
MIW's hardest bangers. The Manson + Rob Zombie worship and Ben Burley imitation is toned down
considerably in favor of being a widely accessible release, therefore being a good spot to jump in
and give MIW a shot. However, if you were not a fan before, this isn't going to change your mind.
If you are a fan, and you still use iTunes, grab the alternate artwork so you don't have to suffer
looking at whatever that's supposed to be. 3.3/5

I have a soft spot for this album; many of the lyrics reach me and feed my soul. It's a dramatic
LP with a powerful mix of entrancing melodies and brutal metalcore.

Super fun, huge breakdowns, impeccably produced, and it just sounds fantastic. Massive riffs that
make me smile, and catchy as all heck chorus's. Seriously I dont understand the negative reviews -
I'm a metal fan of 25+ years, from Korn to Slipknot, to Trivium, Parkway and MIW - and this is the
best album this year in my opinion.rIf you are into any kind of modern metal, and havent been into
MIW - try it. You will thoroughly enjoy it.
And yeah - note to Parkway - this is how you diversify your sound without alienating your original
fanbase and sounding like pretentious dorks.

"Undead Ahead 2" had me interested to give this a listen, aside from occasionally listening to the title track (which is still pretty mediocre). Unfortunately, the entire album is what I expected. "Headache" is pretty much ruined by the repetitive "shut up" in the chorus coupled with some out of place dj-scratches, "Legacy" goes in one ear and out the other, "Brand New Numb" is ruined by the repetitive chorus (go figure once again) and the rest are forgettable. "Thoughts and Prayers" is a standout in addition to the aforementioned "Undead Ahead 2," but I wish these guys would just stick to what they are good at. We can only hope.

The nu-metal tracks are awesome, i think they really nailed it here. Too bad the other tracks range from meh to rgenerally good. Legacy is like a Fall Out Boy track or something and i definitely wasn?t a fan. I wish the entire ralbum had a singular direction, which is an issue i have with most of their stuff, aside from Creatures. BUT this is ra step in the right direction.

I think they are moving farther away from the music that fans of them have come to love. They are taking too much from too many bands and trying to incorporate it into their music. I heard songs that sound like old school KORN, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace. It?s almost like they put all of those names in a hat and picked one out every time they wrote a song and made it sound like them. The only song I truly enjoy from it is Undead Ahead 2: The Tale of the Midnight Ride, the rest I either hated or wasn?t too impressed with. If it wasn?t for that song I would give this album a 1 and honestly these guys are my favorite band.

christ, I wish they just broke up after Creatures. Production is god awful, riffing is bland and unoriginal, the vocals and lyrics are as corny as metalcore vocals in 2019 get. No reason to ever listen to this again

MiW are moving more into nu-metal/alt-metal territory here, but it's still solid enough.
Thoughts & Prayers and Undead Ahead 2 rip hard though. Machine-gun-like instrumentation
during former track's breakdown is amazing.
