give this absolute rare gem a spin and make your day better: a heavy dose of garage, math, and whimsical lyrics concocted in the twilight of their pre-hiatus (and lacking none of the bombastic sarcasm that made their live acts so brilliant then) this is a band at a creative peak seemingly doing no wrong. seriously; take a look at the bizarre opener and epic, yet equally beguiling (with a banger of a payoff jam ending) ending track and take a back seat to anything you've heard of this band. jazzy and funky, lyrically nimble and heart-strikingly direct all in the same stroke; each of "Get Hot's" track engage and misdirect evenly and ultimately perfectly.

This album slowly grew on me after first hearing it and being disappointed that it wasn't more similar to the atmospheric proginess of their self-titled album. But after multiple spins their were so many little nuances that started to jump out at me with the instrumentation. On a random note its interesting that the singer helped produce Lizzo's Truth Hurts and a bunch of other popular songs. Glad to hear some of them found success. This band will always hold a special place in my heart.

I saw this band while they were touring with Portugal. The Man, and RX Bandits. I had never heard of them but was absolutely blown away by their performance. I just bought their new cd off itunes the other day hoping it would be good, and it far exceeded my expectations. The whole entire cd from start to finish is original, catchy, and clever. Definitely worth the money. I myself dont buy very many cd's anymore, but this i have no regrets for. Check out their 1st 7 tracks on purevolume if you are interested at all. Be sure to listen to it all the way through. Who knows, you may become glued to it like i am.
