Still not the Thrice I'd like to hear, but maybe better than their last effort - Palms. Production feels a little wonky and there isn't much improvement lyrically but still an enjoyable small ep

Thrice's death and subsequent zombification as a faceless radio rock band is some Greek-level tragedy shit. Deeper Wells is like a half-step up from its parent album, but still suffers from shockingly repetitive lyrics and melodies and a lot of boringness.

It's everything that Palms should've been (i.e. not a bland overproduced, unfocussed mess of an album) and probably 4 of their best songs since returning from hiatus. Not perfect, but I hope they use this to build on for whatever's next.

I'm not sure what I should have expected with a group of songs that didn't make the cut on Thrice's worst album. Outside of Stumbling West, these are instantly forgettable tracks marred by awful production and even worse lyricism.
