Getting these pre-release bumps off to a good start. FXMLDR(wtf does that even mean?) was an excellent follow-up/sequel to Amateur Arsonist's Handbook, and I'm hoping the rest of the album lives up to it.

Very interesting piece! With various changes in mood, but connected. Sometimes reminded me my beloved The Mars Volta. Technically just flawless.

When will prog bands stop hiring the vocalist from Coheed and Cambria ? Annoying as fuck, and it's a shame cuz m00zik gud. Plus it's so fucking long: not a lot of bands are Swans and manage to give us long and interesting albums. Very solid music apart from these rminor defaults (it's mostly instrumental so we don't hear the pig whining), would be mucho better if it was 20 minutes shorter and instrumental.

TYS shoulder high expectations for good reason, and they mostly delivered with Terraformer. The almost inconceivably long runtime is surprisingly not much of a hindrance here, as the band stay quite engaged with their craft the whole time. TYS maintain their sound well and don't experiment much, which is perhaps why this album doesn't reach the highs it could have. That being said, Terraformer is a wonderful record with some truly superb tracks that belong in the top tier of TYS's discog.

This album is way too bloated and full of itself. and these songs do not need to be as long as they are. seriously, the songs in the second half could have been cut in half. It just trots on because "it's prog. the songs have to be long" well it does not work here, not one bit.Seriously second half of this album is a slogfest

Terraformer resides in the deep end of the swimming pool for progressive jazz rock. At an album length of 84 minutes, the listener deserves a PhD for perseverance. Thank You Scientist really should consider a producer outside themselves for their next record to help trim the fat.

This new album of Thank You Scientist could have been great, especially if the band hadn't fallen into the trap and scattered so much. I am well aware that prog rock often rhymes with long song, but that often leaves the possibility to propose just good things without more. Fortunately, the group is constantly bouncing back, offering brilliant moments. It's a music already complex and fanciful enough to make tons of it, and overall Terraformer would have deserved a nice liposuction. Besides that it's a unique and remarkable album
