Black ice is ice frozen without many air bubbles trapped inside, making it transparent. Black ice takes the color of the material it lies on top of, often wet asphalt or a darkened pond. Its difficult-to-detect nature makes it a significant hazard to drivers, pedestrians, and sailors.
Anyway, album sucks.

I love AC/DC's new album Black Ice. AC/DC has always been a very original band. They don't copy and sing songs written by others. This album is superb because it isoriginal. I don't get what peoples' problems are with AC/DC. If you are looking for them to put out silly Poison and Bon Jovi-type bubble gum music, then you will probabaly be looking for that for eternity, because AC/DC is much better than that. Get over yourselves. I mean, have any of you done anything even close to what this great band has achieved? lol! Besides, I have read ten different professional magazine reviews at least of this album, including Rolling Stone. And every one of them rate this album exceedingly high. So I for one am going to take their professional word ( Rolling Stone has been a professional music magazine for many years), as well as my own, over the barely-past-puberty kids' ratings on this site any day. Thank you.

Feels like AC/DC. Sounds like AC/DC. It even smells like AC/DC... but it seriously lacks any originality whatsoever. It feels re-done to the point it's just what you're used to but is just no longer fun. Something likea a Smallville episode.

Black Ice fucking sucks, but at this point in their career, we all expected it to suck. I still payed cash to see them on this tour, and they still put on a good show, but I didn't even buy a shirt at the show.

Although AC/DC has written classic rock songs in their past (Back in Black!), this album falls far short of what gets me going. The sound is almost exactly how they sounded 20 years ago, but the energy doesn't come through. Some songs, especially Rock n' Roll Train, have a slow tempo and drag on for 4:21. Many songs feel choppy between chorus verse and vise versa. They can still write a song than I can, but their age may finialy be showing through. On the flip side, a die-hard AC/DC fan might like that the sound hasn't changed. In the end, this album won't change the face of rock, let alone inspire new generations of rockers...

Good band. Good history. Cool songs. To be honest, this is getting old. Production is superb, and Brian's voice still works, but with all of my respect, this is a step down from Back in Black. I don't think they're going to be able to surpass that record. The album's highlights sound great, but this is a fan's record.

AC/DC is back just the way we love 'em. Their last few albums were more bluesy, but it's clear with Black Ice that they're back to rocking hard (almost as if no time has gone by at all). Brian's voice is top-notch, Angus and Malcolm are still tight as ever with their guitar playing, and there are a few different songs some of us wouldn't expect to hear from these guys.rA great comeback for AC/DC.

A piss-poor AC/DC record that only existed to try and attempt to make AC/DC relevant again in the 2010's. And what a poor attempt it is! I'm only adding .5 to my rating because I honestly like "Rock n Roll Train" enough to put it in my essential AC/DC tunes "list".rThere is a really good Dance Remix of the song, which I find just as good as the original. IT'S THAT BAD.

Enjoyable, with lots of energy and catchy tunes. Not something special, but surely better than most of the 80s material. Recommendations: "Rock n' Roll Train", "Big Jack", "Anything Goes", "War Machine", "Black Ice"

Artistically, this album is pointless. AC/DC hasn't meaningfully evolved since 1981's For Those About to Rock, around which point they also ran out of original ideas for riffs. It's not like they need any material to tour, either, or even any excuse, as the Australian hard rock legends can still fill stadiums with chanting fans anywhere in the world. Of course, all this wouldn't matter if the album could stand on its own as an enjoyable effort. It can't. Get "Rock 'n' Roll Train" and move on.

With time left to let the message sink in, Black Ice was a dreadfully lazy effort from AC/DC. A disappointment to be forgotten, but "Rock 'N Roll Train" is one saving grace to an otherwise boring array of songs from AC/DC's D-sides collection.

Tired of AC/DC doing nothing to change their stagnant style? Enter Black Ice, AC/DC's 2008 "comeback album." Yep, you guessed it; once again, there is absolutely no change in anything on this album but the quality of the songs. This album is so boring, I haven't listened to it since the week I got it. In 2008. I'm not sure I was even able to sit through it all the way through, it's so long and boring. Avoid at all costs.

AC/DC - Black Ice released 17 of October, 2008. Black Ice is their first album since Stiff Upper Lip, 2000. The album was delayed because of the Cliff Williams having an injury and change of record labels from Epic Records to Columbia Records. AC/DC recorded at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada, the same studio as their previous album Stiff Upper Lip. The album bust’s out 55:38 seconds of Hard Rock N’ Roll.
In 2004, Vocalist Brian Johnson was in an interview revealed that he would be writing song lyrics, for the first time since the band's 1988 album Blow Up Your Video, but the album's release disproved that statement, as all songs were again credited to Malcolm and Angus Young.

According to Angus Young, the term black ice refers to playing gigs during the winter in the Young brothers' native country of Scotland. In an interview, Angus said that "it rolled off the tongue" and that it reminds him of "radio warnings up north of black ice."
Black Ice sold approximately 1,762,000 units in its first week. The album went to number one in 29 different countries, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The first week of Black Ice on the market it sold in the U.S. 784,000 copies. As from December 2009 Black Ice sold 6.2 million copies worldwide. Metal Hammer named Black Ice the third best album of 2008. In Germany it was nominated Best Rock Album and Best Hard Rock Performance for the song War Machine.

Om a musical level I would rate it an average album but on an AC/DC level it probebly would be an 8.
To me Let there be rock and Black in black are geat albums that every rock fan should have. If you like them enough and would get some more pick up Highway to hell and Razor's edge (to pick one from each era). And then you get all the other AC/DC albums some a ltttle bit better than others.
In the Brian are I would place Black Ice right behind the Razor's Edge in the Brian era.

AC/DC return but as expected almost nothing has changed. By making the same album since 1979, AC/DC show us just how you can be so successful by re-releasing the same songs over and over again. But I've always loved AC/DC and maybe I always will.
