'Figure Number 5' finds Soilwork very comfortable in the sound they'd put together on 'Natural Born Chaos', indeed, this album could almost be thought of as 'Natural Born Chaos Pt. II'. However, that would be a touch misleading, as the keyboards are backed off a bit in the mix, with the guitars receiving a more prominent role on this album, despite the fact that they are doing pretty much the same thing as they were last time around. The most notable thing about the album is the continued rapid improvement of Bjorn Strid as a clean singer, by now arguably among the strongest vocalists in modern metal. While it doesn't really offer any surprises, Figure Number 5 is a refinement of the sound that Soilwork had established on the previous album and is, overall, a slightly better disc.
