Grandson is back for his 2nd EP. I don't get why he hasn't started a full-length LP but that's grandson, not me. The EP starts off with the first and only single "Apologize". Grandson I think picked a great choice for a single on the EP. A very catchy and upbeat song with great lyrics. It gave me some Blood // Water vibes. Onto the second single for a modern tragedy vol.2 "Stigmata" as I'm listening to the song the only part that stood out with me was the chorus. A very interesting one to say the least. For when he says "They put a hole in the back of my head, called it suicide Woke up with these holes in my hands from the day I was crucified" to me that's pretty dark and I love it when artists go into that realm with there songs. He even compared himself with Jesus's crucifixion if you believe into that. A lot of biblical references of the song which I hope he does more often. I love when artists mention biblical stuff. Onto the third song "Is This What You Wanted". To me, this song grandson just spoke about his perspective on all these things happening through his life and seeing the same stuff happen to other people in the same perspective. It was a good catchy beat, to say the least. The fourth song "Fallin (Temptation)" Pretty basic song when you know the title. It basically a song talking about grandsons addiction with drugs. By far love this song in the whole ep. Everyone has those temptations in their life and we just can't seem to say we have fallin and we think we won't do it again but we end up keep on doing it. "I said it was the last time last time Wake me up, I’m fallin" perfect lyrics for speaking that. The final song in the album "darkside". To me, this song speaks about grandson's childhood or someone he knew had this life. Like "They always picked on him in the class He would wake up with anxiety attacks" Unless someone told him about this or he lived through it. This is why I love grandson amazing lyrics, beats, flow, everything. I hope he speaks more of his past in his music. Check out the EP if you're into this dark stuff can't wait for more music from him.
