5.0 classic | RhaegarHarp | April 1st 19 | Deeply, deeply enchanting. On top of the stellar composition, her voice simply brings the songs on another level.

3.0 good | TheGreatEscaper | December 21st 21 | It's pretty, I guess! I love the lush instrumentation of this album, but find the songwriting to be lacking on a lot of tracks to be honest. I've listened to this quite a few times now and I can remember like, four actual melodies from the whole album? When a solid song is the foundation of the gorgeous aesthetic of the album, though, it really soars (A Lot's Gonna Change, Wild Time, Picture Me Better).

4.7 superb | Erwann S. STAFF | April 5th 19 | The most beautiful album of the year so far and now imma jam this with my mama so she'll never forget that the music that makes me think of her is this sweet sweet album.

4.5 superb | Christopher Y. | April 5th 19 | Enchanting? Checked. Mesmerizing? Double checked. Cinematic? You've got it. This is indie pop at one of its best that Lana Del Rey might need to reach to the top of the Alps to reach the same level, and this is coming from a loyal LDR fan.

4.0 excellent | Travelhead | March 11th 19 | So hyped for this record. Both Andromeda and Everyday are great singles. I am sure that she is at the peak of her creativity.

4.0 excellent | lz41 | December 2nd 22 | I have a... quibble? If you will? For Weyes Blood. It's something I observed with Jeff Buckley: a voice so big that it's hard for it to become just part of the ensemble. It can't do anything smaller than grand. Anyway, just a minor thought because "Titanic Rising" is really nice mermaid rock.

4.5 superb | PrincyAli | July 16th 21 | A sonically beautiful and raw baroque project with amazing songwriting. 4.5/5 Favs: A Lot's Gonna Change, Andromeda, Everyday, Something To Believe, Movies, Mirror Forever, Wild Time, Picture Me Better

4.5 superb | Mythodea | July 8th 20 | Weyes Blood's Titanic Rising takes the listener to a blissful cloud of strings and airy vocals, glimmering piano keys and slumbery drumming. The compositions reminiscent of older pop ballads in the same vein as ABBA and The Beatles, with modern production and indie aesthetic, interwoven with the sensitivity of singer/songwriter. The songs are lush and blooming, never particularly changing pace or face, but functioning as a safe haven, both in melody and lyrics. In rainy days, or hazy summer noons, have this album playing.

4.5 superb | The Aspie Fantastie | June 26th 20 | First album on the list that I knew very well. What absolute heaven Weyes Blood gifted us here. As if to summon the god(ess) of love and beauty, 'Titanic Rising' sounds like a celebration of the absolute life, love, lovelife, love of life and life full of love. Even in moments of lyrical drowsiness, I feel like the album wants me to be happy, safe and warm in every and all case.

4.5 superb | Blud Vidal | April 17th 20 | How about a bunch of adjectives to make for a truly stellar soundoff? Titanic Rising is mesmerizing, spellbinding, eerie, haunting, emotive, and powerful. The album is lyrically complex, a showcase in an artist's capacity to connect with the listener and evoke scenes of feeling. I can't listen to Titanic Rising casually due to its relentless capacity to conquer the listener's attention. Works like this contribute to our understanding of music's capacity to generate human connection.

5.0 classic | olisz | November 24th 19 | Incredible album! Easily the best of the year, and for sure one of the best of the decade. The Songwriting is absolutely astonishing, as well as the lyricism. I definitely find myself singing along to most of the album. Some memorable moments that stand out for me are for one the ending of "Movies", which is probably the best track on the album, and for second the very beginning of "Wild Time", consisting of a wonderful and playful vocal melody. If I had to point out anything negative about the record, then it would be that in my opinion the song "Mirror Forever" doesn't quite keep up with the other songs. But that is just a minor issue that only slightly affects the listening experience.

4.0 excellent | Rik VII (sound-off ratings out of 10) | August 15th 19 | Pretty old-school in an oddly refreshing way. The arrangements are versatile, the instrumentation has a beautiful, broad feel to it, and the vocals are a lot of fun to listen to. The album as a whole flies by, and Movies is nothing short of amazing. Beautiful album! - 8.5

4.5 superb | Doublez38 | July 5th 19 | Titanic Rising is a real time machine. Everything is so beautiful, magnificently produced and magically written. This trip takes me back to the late 60s and early 70s, swimming between the folk scene of those years and the innovative pop rock that we used to format today. Instinctively, it also reminds me of the slap I took when I listened to Julia Holter's Have You in My Wilderness. This album is much more than a film it is a work as it is very difficult to make because it is necessary to surpass the already made to bring a proper singularity to it

4.5 superb | Chino smoking it up! | June 19th 19 | I liked this very much! Don't know any of her other work but found this with high compositional rskills...beautiful and tender vocals...somewhat Beatles meeting Portishead meeting MGMT. What a rbeautiful way to start the day. Recd Tracks - Andromeda; Wild Time; Picture me better

3.5 great | cjbizzlebizzle | June 10th 19 | Rich and bittersweet baroque/art/dream pop that calls back to the 70s at each and every turn. The instrumentation (strings, use backing of guitars, pianos, synth) and vocal layering provides great depth to Titanic rising and is the highlight of the record thanks to superb production values; Andromeda showcases this best and turns out is the best track on the record. Natalie Merings vocals guide you through this ethereal landscape with soothing melodies and often beautiful harmonies but on the whole Titanic Rising just feels one note. This one note at times reaches near perfection (mostly in the first four tracks) but on the whole the record lacks vigor trudging along in a very narrow style for the entire runtime. On top of that the 70s callbacks are just too blunt at times and too repetitive. Influence is one thing but at times this begs for something new to be added to the mix. The first four songs are one of the strongest stretches of music this year but after that there just isn't a lot of variation on the formula behind Titanic Rising.

5.0 classic | MrTonytheGamer | May 20th 19 | This album is fantastic in every sense of the word. Every song brings something fascinating to the table, and, on top of it all, Natalie's voice is absolutely stunning. The harmonies and lyrics elevate this album beyond any pop album I've heard this year. One of the best of the year for sure.
