A bizarre combination of almost-unlistenable country tracks, weird filler, and ear-worm pop. Are the highlights enough to carry this album?

Album art looks like a 6th grade geography textbook. Edit: what a shitty album. Next to Everything Now, this is the second biggest disappointment of the decade.

You know that feeling of annoyance you get when you drink a lot of beer, but you have to continually piss every 20-30 minutes, often even waking you up after you've conked out? It's that feeling and, with it, all that excess waste.

The eclecticness of the music was executed beautifully. Lots of surprises nestled into all the tracks that makes for a great multiple listen album. It's fresh, airy, a bit silly, and I feel pushes the indie music envelope. A great work of art, that is their best album to date.

Like a Margherita pizza, Father Of The Bride gives the bare minimum enough to please big radio stations and people who only have the time and desire to press play on a playlist hotspot. But what could have happened? If you do not season your pizza with mushroom, seafood or an egg that would come to marry and drip on the middle of it then you will get an average result. Here the pop is so sweet and too smooth that it shows that Vampire Weekend didn't have much of an appetite.

This is a good album. It doesn't feel like a traditional Vampire Weekend album, though. It's on the long side and would have benefited from a shorter run time.

I've always had a fondness for eccentric, quirky tunes. This album is no different. It is hard to recommend to everyone, but for the ones that like when Vampire Weekend is everywhere with no focus, this is a great album. There has always been a great deal of fun in their albums and this one is no different.

There's a really good album here somewhere - Hold You Now, Harmony Hall, Bambina, Rich Man, My Mistake, 2021 are fine songs, but honestly I'd rather have just listened to The Pale Emperor again.
