I'm calling it. This WILL be one of the best albums of 2019. The atmosphere, the melodies,
everything is pure ear sex based on the singles. Can not wait for March 9th.

I really like this, but so far my review is "Holy Hell with lots of Reverb". Trying to write an actual review atm, but I keep
coming back to that. Edit, the more I listen the more I hear mid-era Bring Me The Horizon too. I think if it wasn't for the
albums deft use of atmosphere (which they don't always get right) this wouldn't be anywhere near as good of an album.
Sadly, the more I listen, the more issues I find with it.

I've been waiting for this god damn album to happen for years. It did not disappoint.

First track is a fantastic jam, but after that the vocals grow rapidly annoying as f*ck when they
go all lyrical and grand. In that regard reminded me a lot of Tesseract. Album is full of good
ideas, but in nearly each song there is also an equal amount of annoying sh*te. Track 7 for
example has a nice verse but an annoying chorus. Album is quite diverse, super melodic
metalcore/post-hardcore with post-rocky guitars at times, lots of ambient textures in the
background, and a nice piano interlude on track 10. But naive and urgh tracks like 5 and 6 bring
it down a lot, so it's a shame. Too much vocalising. Overall 3.4

I dig it. The ambiance combined with the instrumentation is a plus as it adds to the soundscape and gives the records some sort of identity. Additionally, the somber melodic tone of the compositions also worked well for the type of narrative it was encompassing. Though, something isn't necessarily clicking with me with the vocals. I might have to give this a couple more spins to see if this grows on me or not, but I think it's solid as is.

This is like Architects minus the screamed sections & the instrumental parts to compliment said screamed sections. Therefore, it lacks in dynamic more often than not. It's not totally uninteresting though, and I feel like as these guys get better as song writers (and get a better mixing engineer for fuck sake) they'll step up. Slightly above average until further notice.

Some of the tracks where they pull the huge hard-hitting chords and bombastic drum hits with stripped-down piano arrangements don't feel as earned when put against songs like "Monochrome" or "Wilt", where that same emotional energy is achieved on those songs so much better. Overall though, the record is extremely moving, raw but well performed. I absolutely adore the post-hardcore elements mixed with beautiful flowing elements of ambiance behind it all.
