No longer part of a major label, Funeral For A Friend is free to have as much fun with their music as they please. Maybe they could have done a somewhat better job of doing so on Memory And Humanity; regardless, this album is still very enjoyable. Bump

Fans of the classic Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation should realise that the band bas moved far from their technical post-hardcore time into more straight-up and solid crafting of songs. This time around they have paid close attention to guitar and vocal dynamics which derive into catchy but memorable tunes. Memory and Humanity is a 13-track collection of good song writing that have a constant pace throughout the album; all of the tracks represent a consistent sound and all steer towards one direction.

Fine crafted songs that manage to balance melody and power to the nth degree. While still easily on a par with their contemporaries they are (this album especially) reminiscent of older bands from Brit Rock era (The Wildhearts, Skunk Anansie, Grand Theft Audio, Liberty 37) Bump
