Again, Cave In has shifted gears, embracing a much more straightforward songwriting style. And boy, they really squeezed hard, seeing how they managed to get just over an hour of music on this. They've exhausted everything they could do with this sound, including the obligatory 'experimental' track 'Sea Frost', which lasts about 9 minutes. It's an overwhelming package, but there's a lot to go back to. You won't love it all in one go.

Great musicianship, but mind-numbingly formulaic. The band's skill is self-evident, but each and every song is nothing but the same mildly progressive alt-rock song. Nothing about this album makes me want to set this band apart from the hundreds of other new-prog rockers out there. 2.7/5
