In more ways than one, Eclipse is reminiscent of Graveyard's Lights Out; album artwork and titles are up the same alley, the back catalogue permutation is the same; and yet, their different music styles, can lend an explanation as to why the Danes fell rather short on the dismal premise of their third album, clearly stated in its liner notes. Unlike the Swedes, whose '70s heavy rock could/was be/fully adapted to the sombre concept of Lights Out, the '60s rock of the Danes in Eclipse remains too happy-go-lucky by design, to properly shroud the album's alleged gloom. Moreover, the album's arrangements are nowhere near the critical triumphs that comprise Into the Long Night, as, despite their solid merit, they elude memory upon their conclusion.
