There s been something less in the Toro y Moi albums for some time now, it?s probably due to a little lack of inspiration. It?s quite mitigated, as much as you re going to face some very good tracks, notably the 2 singles Freelance and Ordinary Pleasure, as much as there are things you can forget. That didn?t stop me from having assets of pleasant listening, because his neo disco and chill robotic funk is catchy

fading, ordinary pleasure, and freelance slap. the album does fall off after track three and apart from the previously mentioned freelance never really comes back from feeling half-finished. probably won't come back to this apart from the three named tracks, but i like the three enough to keep this above a 2.5

Pretty disappointed with this one. Takes what his last record did right -- introspective lyrics, interesting soundscapes, good pop sensibility -- and trades it for inconsequential lyrics and flat dance beats. Thankfully, the listener gets off easy as the record clocks in at 30 mins.
