February has been insane with these releases. Power metal doesn't get much better than this.

Still keeping the same formula as Ghostlights, Avantasia brings more creative thinking and heavy sounds to moonglow. With every song there is something marvelous.

Beautiful album so far. Ghosts in the Moon is
particularly a work of art with some of the
most beautifully combined musical elements
especially in the last minute. Tobias voice
sounds like its coming from a much more
emotional place throughout the album as does
his musical writing.
Maybe to early to say but potentially
Avantasia's most immersive album so far.

If The Raven Child is anything to go by, then this is going to be one of 2019 best releases.

Several months on and while this album is quite fantastic, it doesn't exactly live up to the creative heights of Ghostlights, a few missed opprotunities here and a few fumbled melodies there. The highlights though continue the themes of Ghostlights in a much more relatable and decipherable shell. Tracks like the emotional Ghost in the Moon and the absolutely rumbling The Raven Child serve as the heights of the album, but there are still plenty of other tracks to digest. While it's ending feels slap-dashed, it still remains one of Tobi's very best achievements.

Fills the void of compelling, relatively-heavy power metal that was left by the departure of Jorn from Masterplan. Excellent album.

Moonglow is more or less a mirror-shone Ghostlights, boasting superb production, amazing performances and a few of Avantasia's most resonating tracks to date. However, it does live in its predecessor's shadow, and while the second half loses touch and botches the pacing up, Moonglow stands as a stellar piece of work that is guaranteed to satisfy all but the most critical of rock/metal opera fans.

Every song with Jorn slays, the rest of the record is a little hit or miss for me though.

Jammed twice in a row, definitely a continuation of the Ghostlights sound in a good way. I'm just not sure if it reaches the same peaks as the last record, even with Hansi finally showing up. Will need future listens to decide.
