They were a mediocre band with a few passable songs and now they're a terrible band with no redeeming qualities. They have some potential potential to be decent, but their sound is so washed and been-there-done-that. I'd be very surprised if they're still around in a year or two.

what was a pretty decent post hardcore band at the start has turned into a very bad pop punk band. any screams have almost been completely erased. Craig Mabbits vocals are at their weakest ever as he does nothing but try to imitate Escape The Fates former vocalist Ronnie Radke and does so quite poorly, making it almost painful to listen to at times. their playing ability seems to have suffered as the lead guitar seems almost absent compared to their older work and the drumming has become quite simple compared to older material. all in all this CD sounds like Escape The Fates effort to get on the radio and mtv. were this an entirely different band it would be a decent album, but knowing what Escape The Fate used to be, this album can only been seen as a poor effort by them

They really went down the rabbit hole of shrapnel with this bullcrap. This War Is Ours, while sporting a slightly salvageable production job, features many aspects ranging from so-so to just outright pathetic, with Craig Mabbitt's copycat-esque vocals being the major problem. This hard rock formula just does not suit a band like Escape the Fate at all, though I must say the title track is a bit on the decent side; interestingly enough, this was used for Soul Eater Abridged's opening theme. The issue with that, however, might just be the voice actors for said project wondering if the other tracks were any good. Here's a resounding no from me to them.

this deserves a 1 but the guitar solo in the beginning of "This War is Ours" is pretty sick hence the 1.5.

After losing Ronnie Radke, it was all downhill for Escape The Fate. This album falls flat that had a lot of expectations. From the great feedback "Dying Is Your Latest" got, it was expected that "This War Is Ours" would be a step-up. (However; all but true!) Once ETF lost Ronnie; and in a sense Omar E. (But all beside the point).. But once they lost Ronnie, ETF lost there artistic musicianship. The only reason I give this album a rating of 1.0 is because the songs "This War Is Ours" and "The Guillotine Pt.2" are somewhat decent. It's sad when an album only has, at best, (2) subpar tracks. "Way to go Craig! You should of stayed with Blessthefall! That's where you shined!"

With fast, catchy instrumentation, well fitting vocals and an overall energetic nature, Escape the Fate's sophomore effort is less sincere but better constructed than their debut effort with Ronnie Radke. The lyricism has taken a downturn, however in exchange, the production values, guitar work, drumming and vocal performance have all gone up.

As much as it kills me to say, I didn't half mind Dying Is Your Latest Fashion. However this album just sucks, rplain and simple. The purpose of this sound off is not to give you a description of the sound, rather it is a rwarning not to tread anywhere near this band beyond and including this album.

Solid album overall, but individual songs aren't as good as their previous albums. I personally recommend: Ashley, This War Is Ours (Guillotine Part II). And if you're looking for something different try "It's Just Me".

Escape the Fate's first release a by the book metalcore release, but not a terrible one at least. THIS? This is pure crap recorded on audio. I'd rather sit in my house all day and listen fart sounds on youtube, then actually give this album a "chance" ever again.

To get a one from me you not only have to come out with a completly uninspired, shitty record but you acually have to come out with something that acually pisses me off. In that manner Escape The Fate passes with flying colours. I mean Blessthefall wasn't bad and yet Craig acually has made ETF even worth. God damn.

I just love this album
I've listened to it continuously
and personally I prefer Craig's voice to Ronnie's
and before i get loads of you biting my head of for that i love Ronnie's voice and i think its a crime that hes been arrested but i love Craig's a tiny bit more

I actually really enjoyed this album. I think all the instramentals were strong, and Craig's voice is his own- i don't think there are any songs that were imitating Ronnie.

this review was biased and focused on how they sound compared to the first album. News flash, they lost a guitarist and have a new lead singer. Yes, they are going to sound DIFFERENT. I still don't think it was bad at all. Some songs are stronger than others and some points they are still working to perfect, but an all around pleasing listen.

To anyone's notice, I like this album better than any previous Escape the Fate album. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy the past albums as well, but Craig is able to deliver a solid performance, and makes a great new addition to the band. Every track on this album is good in its own way. The standout track though, "This War is Ours (The Guillotine Part II)" really sold this album for me. This song has to be, besides "The Guillotine" one of Escape the Fate's greatest songs ever written, if not, THE greatest. Good album. Catchy, awesome.

The lyrics are flat out corny, but the vocal work is awesome. Craig's style works really well with songs like The Flood and This War Is Ours. Other than that, the rest of it sounds kinda' recycled. Not that it's BAD, but I expected more.
The drums are really catchy, but nothing too spectacular. The guitar shines in many of these songs, especially the solo in This War Is Ours. I think any fan of Craig Mabbitt/pop punk/alternative will be able to enjoy this CD.

This is a great album from an OK band. Their previous effort was good, but each track was either hit or miss. This album is a bit more consistent, and each of the members have upped their chops. A lot of the songs have solos which are well constructed and I feel the riffs are more original. Monty really upped his game, just listen to The Gullotine pt. 2. The bass lines really shine on this album and stray off from the guitar a lot. The drumming is passable, a few good fills here and there, but nothing special.
On to the HUGE change. The vocals. Ronnie wasn't the best vocalist but I felt he had a ton of passion in his singing. Craig is a more consistent vocalist, but I don't feel the same passion from him. I do believe his screams are better though, but his clean singing is only decent.
And yes, a couple songs are rather poppy, but there were a couple poppy songs on their last effort too. Which is an okay thing, it doesn't have to be all hard and heavy. It's ESCAPE THE FATE, not All Shall Perish or anything brutal.
Over all, great album and an enjoyable listen.
