a very fun pop-metal album. great vocals with a very polished production and good instrumentation. though I do wish the guitars had a bit more punch to them.

Can't say that I'm extremely surprised by the direction of this band on this one, but still this is way too dramatic for my liking. Within Temptation have finally removed every suspicion of metal from their music and have become a full-blown pop act. I can see why someone who enjoys pop might like this one and I'd never demand from an artist to release the music fans demand. Nevertheless, even though Resist is not an offensive listen by any means, it does absolutely nothing for me.

I don't think Sputnikmusic will like this ralbum very much... I don't expect this to rbreak any new ground based on the single, but rdel Adel is undeniably one of the best female rmetal vocalists. And the single is so catchy.rAfter listening, this is a entry level basic rpop metal. But damn it's catchy and fun. And rDel Adel easily bumps the score up way more rthan it deserves.

its always a temptation for a symph band to go full poo (ahahahaha typo for pop im keeping it) and clearly they could not resist and this album serves as a beacon for every other symph band not to follow in their footsteps

It sounds like den Adel hasn't quite recovered from her writer's block because biting into it felt like finding out there was nothing but dough inside. First warning flag: they kept pushing the release date and sent out the only good track as a teaser. They should have just released the one song and then canceled the rest of the album. I think I'm done with WT.

I was a bit sceptical at first when reading that the album would feature a lot of electronical
elements. Doubting how that could be incorporated properly in the WT sound. Fortunately, the end
result turned out to be strong. Apart from the electronical elements there are also influences
from other genres to be heard. Everything blends in really well providing a more modern and
polished sound. This in combination with the quality of Sharon's voice makes me want to hear
Resist on a regular basis.

I think it all comes down to expectations. Within Temptation has always been blending pop, orchestration, and heavier elements. This isn't too far afield from Stand My Ground, for example, and how many albums ago was that? So this is exactly what I've come to expect from the band, but frankly with a lot more energy than they've injected into things for quite some time. Definitely a step up from Hydra!r

I'm all for more pop sensibilities in metal lately but this is not to my taste at all. I don't know if its Sharon's vocals or the completely ridiculous orchestral instrumentation here but it is what it is.
