George Clanton is doing the lord's work. Both 100% Electronica and 200% Electronica (released
under his other project's name, ESPIRIT) are absolute gems, and Slide... Slide is a step above the
already lofty heights those other two albums reached. I can wait to see what this guy does in the
next 2, 5, 10 years.

100% electronica is one of my favorite albums of all time and this one is meandering and bland mostly with sprinkles of what made 100% so good spread thin throughout

A taste of nostalgia both in lyrics and production, this feels like stumbling on my trinkets as a kid growing up and those memories coming back in waves while not all fitting together but making a wonderful memory. It's a delightful album and wish I heard this when it came initially out!

Clanton delivers another banger with Slide, a release that properly puts the pop in his vapor/chill wave aesthetic. Of course, the "atmospheric nostalgia" vibe drives the record's sonic palette. Still, the strong compositions make Slide a bastard album that's as much 80s homage as it is pure 2010s zeitgeist.

On the surface, Slide is a canvas for George Clanton's lucid, atmospheric, and mesmerizing instrumentals, and on a more careful inspection provides an interesting commentary on heartbreak and childhood nostalgia. See my review for more. A true 5.

Unlike 100% and Heartbeats which both got stuck in my head immediately, this album was
much more of a grower. My initial listen was a little underwhelming in comparison, but
each listen has wormed its way into my ear-holes further and further.
