"Amber Gray" is another example that shows that Jon Chang is one of Grindcore's most powerful and ubiquitous names. The songs are explosive, ruthless and full of anger and hatred. The production leaves a little to be desired at times, making the disc not perfect for details. But nothing else takes away the brilliance of a band as fantastic and folk as Gridlink.

Mid 7 out of 10: On their first LP, GridLink shows the project's main purpose with full on force, and it surely keeps the listener interested for 11 minutes. Maybe it's too brief for me, but it can be too much for other's I'd imagine.

The trio who comprise GridLink piss through Amber Gray's 11 songs like there's no tomorrow. The album's concentrated, but no less vicious form of grind is nearly enough to take a cake and decimate its frosting. Jon Chang's howls alone are insane, while Takafumi Matsubara's guitar work can break the jaws of a shark in a moment's time - with Bryan Fajardo not too far behind him. While not as heartbreakingly powerful as Longhena, this group's debut record is overall monstrous to a good extent.
