this album has some genuinely great tracks, but as a whole it gets boring fast. just listen to the tracks on their myspace for a better summary of their good points.

The original release of Rareform is near-perfect musically, but what keeps it from being great are the vocals and overall production. The vocalist on this version is pretty mediocre, occasionally good, but often fails to live up to the rest of the musicians in the band. And the production, while not necessarily bad, doesn't give album the energy that it needs. Luckily the re-recorded version changed all that, but either way you choose to listen to it, Rareform is a fantastic effort by ATB

I this album is such an amaing album. They're even better live, amazing middle-eastern melodies thrown in every now and again, unique isnt the word.

i would say that the only thing that bothers me about this album is the mixing; the bass drum is incredibly over powering and actually hurts your ears at times when wearing headphones at high volume. but speaking about the actual album content; yes, nothing new is attempted here but what this band does, they do it very well. Leads are incredibly melodic and go so nicely with the aggressive chug chug happening in the background.

Putting a unique spin on traditional metalcore by throwing in technical and progressive elements, After the Burial's newest offering, Rareform showcases diversity and evolution in the band's musical style. This is a pretty interesting listen, a few weak spots along the way but all in all a pretty strong record. There's a certain brutallity that combines well with parts marred by a lack of melody, creating a pretty fierce attack in the procress. I'm looking forward to more things to come from these guys, they seem to be on the right track.

really, i think this band deserves much more than what people rated but yes everyone haas an opinion, and i think this album is amazing, must people would talk about the guitars but i think its more than the guitars, lyrically great and sure as hell gets me pumped :]
