| 3.5 great | irrevrent | August 1st 13 | You get your moneys worth when you see built to spill live. They closed with cortez on top of an already long set last time I saw them. Don't be that asshole that yells 'FREEBIRD!' if you ever see them live because they'll probably play it.

| 4.5 superb | Mr_Coffee | October 2nd 12 | The 20 minutes long "Cortez the Killer" is one of the greatest covers I've ever heard. And
the rest is damn good, too. "Broken Chairs" is breathtaking, "The Plan" is fantastic, "Randy
Described Eternity" is even more beautiful and "Car", well, "Car" is fucking classic. Built
to Spill proves to be a brilliant live band, especially frontman Doug Martsch, one of indie
rock's finest guitar players.

| 4.5 superb | BrainPie | January 8th 11 | Wow. If "Cortez the Killer" were the first track, I'd never hear the rest of the album. Neil is still alive, otherwise I would say the performance was by his disembodied ghost. The rest of the songs are so fantastically performed, it's almost a shame Cortez nearly overpowers them.
