yeah i'll beg alright...for something good! same shit but worse, one look at disalvo and you'd think he'd be able to growl real nice instead of the crystal clear pipsqueak vox on here. dat didgeridoo tho

Had the potential to be great, with classic great Cryptopsy instrumentation (if a bit weaker than previously). The vocals however are a huge wcorn on the album and leave a lot to be desired. DiSalvo chooses to go full out hardcore in the vocal department which is very distracting given how high the vocals are in the mix.

Horrendous vocals from Mike DiSalvo (who left after this release) and cut-and-paste-riff songwriting condemn And Then You'll Beg to near the bottom of Cryptopsy's discography. Some of the individual riffs are cool, but good luck remembering any of them after the record ends.

After going back through Cryptopsy's releases over and over for the last two years, I've established a new found appreciation for Jon Levasseur & co's writing abilities. I've also ditched the notion that NSV was their crowning achievement, and believe that title now belongs to either this cd, or Whisper Supremacy. This is the very definition of well-written, highly-combustible, amazing metal.
