Much needed breath of fresh air from Amity. Props to them for finally having a crack at something different. Drag The Lake is their best song in years.

I thought this record was going to be good, but I did not think it was going to be this fucking good. It blows This Could Be Heartbreak out of the water, and I think it's better than Let the Ocean Take Me as well (which is quite the feat because that record is very good). The band really switched gears with Misery, for the better, blending melodic hard rock with catchy tunes and adding some more electronics. They really hit the nail on the head and every song does not have the same formula from the past 2 albums. I am incredibly impressed with this album and have listened to it 3 times already today in its entirety. 2 thumbs up and can't wait to see them play some of the new cuts in concert.rTAA FOREVER!

They said they'd switch things up, and thank god they actually did. After losing not only their talented drummer, but their lead guitarist too, they've done the smartest thing possible by focusing on impressive and poppy vocal performances rather than forcing less than stellar instrumentation/scene heaviness, like on their last effort. And when there is actual instrumentation, it hits harder than ever before, thanks to Birch's renewed, more intense screams. But most of the time, the band's metalcore tendencies take a back seat to varied vocals and well produced electronic melodies, giving the band a chance at finally starting fresh. Introducing a pop sensibility was the best thing for Amity. TL;DR It's catchy, sometimes goofy (D.I.E. especially...), but always fun and fresh.

This is surprisingly good not amazing but its a solid release. It has some shitty tracks D.i.E and burn alive. Also ahren doesnt sound like a robot/bored unlike this could be heartbreak

Way better than their last 2 records in a lot of ways, but still falls flat on its face in a lot of others. Since I'm not really a fan of this band I don't really have the wisdom to say whether Amity fans will love or hate the change in sound, but this is a huge step in the right direction for the band (the right direction being not making the same album but progressively worse 4 times in a row). It's a different, better sound for the band, but it's still not quite there yet. Maybe their next album will be great.

While I can appreciate the band trying to add a new dynamic to their sound, everything else about the album falls flat. The majority of the lyrics are very cringe, and the instrumentation aside from the electronics, which I thought were actually decent, are dull and forgettable, much like the album as a whole. The lead single Doomsday gave me a little hope that they would vastly improve from their previous effort, which was truly terrible, but they've only managed to improve by the slimmest of margins
