A friend over the internet told me about this group, and as soon as I heard track 9, Stack Shot Billy, I fell in love. This is another one of those albums that I've listened to so many times, you'd question my sanity.
I love the heartfelt singing, the crunchy, rusted guitars, and the intricate drumming. The lyrics in my opinion are clever sometimes, and pretty solid all around.
The only complaint I have with the album is track 1, When the Light Go Out. It pails in comparison to the next track, 10 AM Automatic, in terms of energy, quality, and it just leaves you in a strange mood to begin a great album.

Okay, I've come to the realization that I sincerely like this album. It only took me up to track 7 before I settled w/ acknowledging this band, or at least this album, can play some decent songs for a (humble) duo. Even so, I'm finding it hard to rationalize how this band can rank in as one of the "top" blues artists on this site. You have a band that's trying to mark itself amongst the other great blues artists & groups like Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Chuck Berry, and even Social Distortion. I've got a lot more listening to do before I can confirm if this album is even worthy of a 4-spectrum rating...

The highs are typically excellent - the heavy sludge of 'When The Lights Go Out', the gorgeous 'The Lengths', 'Stack Shot Billy' and the tight, groovy 'Keep Me.' However, there's a couple of songs that sound like the Keys are ripping themselves off.
