Amazing instrumental album that is an absolute pleasure to listen all the way through. Every aspect of the album is performed to perfection and there is not a dull moment to be found despite the longer run time. Extra good to listen to when driving at night .

Giving it a second chance after almost 2.5ing it. Musical dexterity aside, there are many rooms and corridors to explore in this album, which almost never disappoints in dynamics and stunning moments. Production helps elevate an already amazing result, an art piece filled with inspired ideas and detailed flourishes. Can prove to be tiresome for many, as it works best if listened from start to finish (as a dream sequence, the way the band intended), and individual tracks aren't as satisfactory.

I know a drummer guy who won't shut up about this band and keeps showing everyone Aric Importa's performance at Guitar Center Drum-Off 2012 finale. Listening to this I can see (hear) how this would be a topper of an instrumentalist's essential listening list. The finesse these guys display is undeniable. But other than often being overwhelmed by the instrumentals to a point of the songs being inscribed on the inside of my brain, I found most of the songwriting to be unremarkable. It is not unmemorable, but it is lacking in composition. It is like a car engine catalogue. All technicality, but unless you are already well versed in the craft of making them, you will struggle to understand what to listen for.

Best Album of 2018. It's like the aural equivalent of a mountain stream smoothly yet powerfully flowing downward. Best songs: Copper Wasp, Phoenix IV: Levitation, Vice Wave..Though it really does have to be taken as one cohesive piece.

This is good. Maynard would fit this perfectly, but you almost don't miss the vocals on it. A lot rof APC or tool vibes, but also Deftones for sure...but everything more tchnical. Its really rstrange and I'm surprised by an instrumental record.rEDIT: Fuck that 3.5, I must go to a 4! no wait I'm going back to 3.5 because I'm disappointed with their background and previous releases

Amazing album. I was so bummed to hear that their
singer called it quits and that this was a
instrumental album but damn was I surprised.rVery
original blend of music that captivates and gets
you into a set of mood. This trio really gets to
show their technical prowess without loosing sense
of what makes for great songs. The only reason
this doesnt get more than four is because I always
miss vocals on instrumental albums (compared to
other instrumentals this is classic five! Truly
original in the instrumental genre).
