The new full length album from October Falls is an excellent collaboration of highly atmospheric black metal and earthly like neo-folk music. Basically a more expanded version of their The Streams of The End EP. In the ever prescent folk sections no paino, strings, or flutes appear such as in Marras only layered acoustics and some nature ambience. The black metal parts are layered with two or three guitars and feature very stronge drum work supplied by M.Tarvonen from Moonsorrow, very few blastbeats which is a welcome change for this type of music. Only black metal rasps appear, they fit the music very well and the lyrics are in a league of their own talking about the loss of culture and the wrath of nature towards humanity. The album is one song broken up into four parts and plays for a little over thirty-eight minutes. If you liked releases such as Bergtatt, Two Hunters, or Pale Folklore I suggest you check this out.
