It's pretty much the same MA we're used to, except slower and dreamier. This also means, that despite some great guitar work from Josh, and Heather's better-than-ever vocal histrionics, they've also become more boring. The main influences here are Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and friends; unlike the last album, which marked a return to more progressive waters, even adding that dish of folk back, now they're plodding along in more classic rock territory; and I don't know if I like that as much as I like the oldschool MA with the folk and prog touches. This band needs to keep its Floydy roots. I still like the album, but I can't help wishing for something altogether more... interesting.
Oh, and Tearing at the Faerytale is just the most emotional song the band ever wrote. Check that out.
