3.5 great | StarsDie | July 13th 18 | Legitimately caught me off guard multiple times. Probably their most adventurous piece of music yet.

4.5 superb | Djang0 | July 7th 18 | Kinda continues the 'heavier coma ecliptic' sound like 1 did, but way more experimental and definitely a lot of unpredictable
moments. Very much where Id hoped the sound would go after the cliffhanger of 1. Listening to both albums together is
going to be sick
Edit: however nothing about this merited the secondary release. It isn't the biggest deal (just make a playlist with both
albums together) but it just messes with the expectations that might come with 2 separate releases

4.5 superb | Tyrael | July 13th 18 | All killer, no filler. Took them quite a while to formulate a worthy follow-up to the Great Misdirect but finally, here it is. Welcome back, boys.

3.0 good | arakkune13 | July 14th 18 | Very interesting album with a lot of epic moments. Voice of Trespass seriously caught me off-guard and it is one of my favorite song of theirs.

4.5 superb | Groundking | July 13th 18 | This is the best thing they've ever written. They've managed to mature and refine their songwriting whilst still managing to keep that schizophrenia in their music that makes them BTBAM, but without it just feeling like they're doing it for the sake of it like how it feels at times in a lot of their earlier work.

5.0 classic | DaleCooper1 | July 8th 18 | We are hollow... condemned to the gallows
Better than Automata I and I loved Automata I. The Proverbial Bellow is one of their most progressive songs ever and Voice of Trespass is fun as hell to listen to. Glide and The Grid are great, but do probably stand out less compared to the former two.

3.5 great | Jared Floryan | July 13th 18 | Unless the title didn't already give it away, Automata II is the second half of a greater whole that should've been released as such; meanwhile, spaghetti is a type of pasta and Billy Mays is still a ghost. In any case, this is about on par with the first batch of songs from a vocals, instrumental, and mixing/mastering perspective. Adding to that, however, II also has a bit more of an explorative edge to it: "Glide" for instance incorporates accordion playing and segues beautifully into the Diablo Swing Orchestra-sounding "Voice of Trespass," which is bound to go on to be one of my favorite BTBAM songs in recent memory. "The Grid" is a nice and effective closer in the context of the storyline that's being told. Really, there isn't a whole lot else I could say regarding the new record in general aside from... well, Sumerian are greedy tools. $$$

3.5 great | Panzerchrist | July 13th 18 | Imagine if their label weren't a bunch of greedy fuckheads and we got one moderately impressive
concept album instead

5.0 classic | YAAAOOO | July 12th 18 | This sounds so out of place without the first part. With Periphery's Alpha/Omega and Co&Ca's The Afterman albums I have no problem listening them separately but this just sounds awkward without its previous release. I thought there would be at least a small attempt to make them more individualized and coherent by themselves.

4.0 excellent | Distributor of 4s, Consoomer of Riffs | July 12th 18 | Definitely an easier and more consistent listen than Automata I, and the jazz influences here are huge. The walking bassline in 'Voice of Trespass' is HNNNNNNNNNG.

3.5 great | GamamJ | July 4th 20 | Buried?s best since Parallax II. After the stripped down Coma, and spearheadedly core-y Automata I, Automata II finally shows Buried fully fleshed out again. Their best opener in years, it immediately announces Buried?s return. A quirky metal-rooted proggy track, followed by a short polka and then a full 8 minute mostly big band/jazz based track with a heavy tinge. What I an trying to say is Buried?s sporadic, but always proggy self has returned, and returned in form.

0.0 | Blud Vidal | April 14th 20 | I really, really, really wanted to 3.5 this. From a conceptual standpoint the album is fragmentary without Automata I, and the band are clearly reacting against Coma Ecliptic, to the point where the focus seems off-center (let's go heavy where we would go soft before!). This all being said, BTBAM close with two excellent songs; with Voice of Trespass, they've crafted their best, in my opinion. Despite the conceptual lapses and sense that BTBAM might be tiring creatively, they manage to pull out all the stops in the second half and redeem a mediocre (by BTBAM standards) effort with the Automata duo.

4.5 superb | ItsTheSquirrel | December 2nd 18 | This is why BTBaM are one of the greatest proge bands of our time. However I can?t give this a perfect 5 because it doesn?t really work without part 1

3.5 great | cjbizzlebizzle | July 26th 18 | BTBAM went full prog and goofy on Coma Ecliptic and with the Automata series have brought more of the metalcore and heaviness back into their sound instead of just more wankery. Automata II is a good mix of both worlds with a huge variety of instruments and BTBAM going BTbigband for the most discussed track on the album 'Voice of Trespass'. This is certainly one of the more memorable tracks for the band in quite some time and they hit the nail on the head perhaps giving a nod to Diablo Swing Orchestra along the way. It seems like BTBAM have hit a stride again finding the great balance they have always had between prog and metalcore and it will be fun to see live iterations of the tracks on Automata II.

3.0 good | Arokan | July 22nd 18 | Much better than part I. The jazz influenced tracks really play out well. The opening song showcases their abilty to play their instruments while at the same time it sounds like a cohesive rather than a show-off. But since I don't dig the last one there are only two truly great songs left and that's not much of an album is it? I wish they'd just chosen the best tracks from both parts and combined them into an excellent record.

4.0 excellent | ambiance762 | July 16th 18 | These guys have so much fun. The Proverbial Bellow is one of their best tracks in a long time. The Grid is slightly underwhelming, but I dig the nods to Chris Cornell on it. Glide and VoT are insane and unpredictable. I wish this album was simply released as a whole, but whatever. Killin' album.
