Alex Koehler performs a triple kill in Call of Core: Modern Deathcore by leaving Chelsea Grin, rcausing Tom Barber to leave Lorna Shore which presumably is causing CJ to leave Signs of the rSwarm.rThe new singles are bland and boring, long gone from their signature dark and heavy sound and the ralbum art looks like a fucking t-shirt designrI suppose being a cg fan is an actual eternal nightmarer

It's fine but nothing more...Tom should have stayed at Lorna Shore. Imho it's their second worst album after My Damnation. Even their last record had more things to enjoy because of better singles and overall the better breakdowns. This is more death metal than deathcore at times, which is not where Chelsea Grin can shine. They were great when they added in melody like in Evolve and Ashes to Ashes OR without melody via pure breakdown-fests like in Desolation of Eden, their selftitled EP or Self Inflicted. Eternal Nightmare is neither here nor there. It's half-assed, boring, samey and just features the occasional tad of greatness, which is simply not enough. The production is good though and Tom mostly shines. That's about it. Solid, but you're better off with their other CDs. 2.75 or smth out of sympathy.

A decent deathcore album. Some awesome guitar riffs mixed in with some kind of bland and forgettable guitar riffs, and some pretty basic chugging when put into the context of todays metalcore/deathcore scene. The new vocalist is solid enough, and the lyrical content isn't horrendous but more miss than hit.

Alex isn't coming back guys, get the fuck over it; that doesn't stop this beast of an album from being a heavy, incredibly produced thrill ride. It chugs, it slams, and it bleghs.

I can understand why a deathcore fan won't like this. I'm more a metalcore guy and the album was so well produced. The mix was flawless and everything sounds huge but clear at the same time. I think in terms of production and mixing, this is probably the best I've heard this year.

Other than the single Dead Rose, this entire album is generic deathcore 101. It was completely boring and a slog to get through. Which is a shame because Tom is an amazing vocalist, this album did him no justice at all.

Far and above anything on Self Inflicted in every way imaginable, that's not exactly a hard feat
as far as mindless deathcore goes it's pretty great, easily one of their best records

Man, these guys were never the definitive deathcore band at their best but this is just god-awful.
