Every song sounds almost identical and none of them are terribly good. It sounds like Shinoda's rapping has deteriorated since 2005 and he's trying to compensate by trading Rising Tied's "indie" rap tribute with Soundcloud samples. This sounds like something a fan inspired by Linkin Park would post on their message board for free, not something the brains behind the band sat down and spent a year on.

For an album that's supposed to reflect on what Mike has gone through over the past year I was expecting something more powerful and emotionally resonant. Not saying that it doesn't have it's moments for sure, but I feel like he should've gone the extra mile here.

This, in essense, is 'One More Light', without Chester, but with all the traits of that album, both likable and irritating for me (the vocals, drowned in needless effects, for one). And yet in Sputnik's collective consciousness this album is a 3, while that one is barely above 1.5. Context's a bitch.
