| 4.0 excellent | musicknower | November 15th 21 | It's ridiculous to claim that any record is "perfect." There is no such thing as a "perfect" CD; everyone makes mistakes, and that is part of what makes music so enjoyable. "Die Lit" is arguably the closest any hip-hop album will ever come to being "perfect." Beats, production, and lyrics are all minimalist. "Wow" is the only word that comes to mind when I think of it. Carti presents his effortless, superb lyricism, which embodies the old "rockstar" attitude of not caring about anything. Even Travis Scott brings his A-Game, and none of the features fail to deliver (who I fucking hate). All of this is accompanied by Pi'erre Bourne's strongest production to date. This is just incredible. If you don't like this album, I'm going to bully you...

| 3.5 great | Erwann S. EMERITUS | February 2nd 21 | This was interesting. Interesting as in: "I didn't enjoy everything but there def is something going on here". The production is nothing short of amazing, the trap percussions being coupled with eerie synths that add some vapor vibes to the whole project. The main problem is that the lack of variety soon make itself known through the length: this is another album that should have been 40 minutes long. Still, the undeniable fun factor is enough to make your head bop, whether it's thanks to the big-bass trap beats, or Carti's idiosyncratic mumble vocal style. Cool shit.

| 0.0 | Jeffery J. Bigglestein | June 29th 20 | If I wanted to listen to a pilled-out moron act like a complete dumbass on a Pierre Bourne beat I'd listen to Pierre Bourne. Still better than J. Cole.

| 0.0 | JoinAcademicDcathlon | March 6th 19 | Playboi Carti seems to understand why people like trap. Pierre does an amazing job with the production, covering the album head-to-toe in these really luscious sounding pianos and bass backing. His lyrics are pretty much as simple (and as catchy) as possible, but his better features do a decent job of making up for that with much better lyricism.

| 3.0 good | commonist | June 7th 18 | 65/100. While I loved the drowsy production and drugged-out aesthetic of this project, Carti's flows and lyrics became very grating after an entire hour of woozy trap-rap. If this thing had been cut in half and trimmed of all the fat, I probably would have enjoyed this considerably more. Regardless, a fun mixtape with plenty of good aspects.

| 2.5 average | notkanyewest | May 23rd 18 | I was a pretty big fan of the first record but find this one to be kinda boring. If I had to guess why it'd be the production, it felt kinda novel the first time around but now it feels like p'ierre bourne is cycling through presets. Think carti would be served by taking a little more time between this project and the next one and finding some new producers that fit his sound

| 2.5 average | lildump | May 16th 18 | it's just average stuff honestly. Shoota and Lean 4 Real are the only good tracks on here, the rest is just plain filler. I miss the not-that-old carti.
